Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 17, 2026

This policy explains what San Diego Trail Company (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects when you visit sandiegotrailcompany.com, send us a message, or book an experience with us — and what we do with it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal padding.

Who we are

San Diego Trail Company operates a working ranch in Poway, California, offering guided horseback trail rides, riding lessons, kids camps, ranch stays, and equine-assisted coaching. You can reach us at:

14875 Mina De Oro, Poway, CA 92064

Information you give us

Contact form

When you use the form on our contact page, we collect your name, email address, an optional phone number, the subject you select, and your message. Submissions are delivered to our inbox by Web3Forms, a third-party form-relay service. We use these details only to answer you.

Bookings and payments

Rides, lessons, camps, stays, and gift certificates are booked and paid for through FareHarbor, our reservation provider. FareHarbor collects the booking and payment information needed to process your reservation, under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full payment card number.

Talking to us directly

If you call, email, or message us on social media, we keep what you send so we can help you and maintain a record of the conversation.

Information collected automatically

Our site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like essentially all web hosting, Cloudflare records technical request data — IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and timestamps — to serve the site, defend against attacks and bots, and diagnose faults.

Loading a page also makes requests to a small number of outside services:

  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) supplies our typefaces. Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
  • Unsplash (images.unsplash.com) serves some photography on the site.

We do not currently run Google Analytics or any general website-analytics product, and we do not operate a social media tracking pixel on this site.

Cookies and local storage

We do not set our own advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser may store a small display preference locally on your device so the site renders consistently; this stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. Cloudflare may set cookies strictly necessary for security and load balancing, and Google may set cookies in connection with the advertising described below. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the site works.

Advertising

We advertise through Google Ads. If you reach our site by clicking one of our ads, the link may carry a click identifier (for example a gclid parameter) that lets Google report whether the ad led to a booking or an inquiry. This tells us that an ad worked; it does not tell us who you are.

Google may use its own cookies and identifiers for ad measurement and remarketing under its policies. You can review and adjust these at Google My Ad Center and Google’s partner-sites policy.

How we use your information

  • To answer questions and respond to inquiries you send us.
  • To arrange, confirm, and deliver rides, lessons, camps, stays, and events.
  • To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website.
  • To measure whether our advertising is working.
  • To meet legal, tax, insurance, and safety obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that make the ranch and this site run:

  • FareHarbor — reservations and payment processing.
  • Web3Forms — delivering contact form submissions to our inbox.
  • Cloudflare — website hosting, delivery, and security.
  • Google — advertising measurement and font delivery.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the safety of our guests, our staff, or our horses.

Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy, to ask us to correct or delete it, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale to opt out of.

To make a request, email ride@powayequestriancenter.com or call 858-748-6441. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the time the law allows.

Children

We run camps and programs for children, but this website is intended for adults and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Registration for youth programs is completed by a parent or guardian, who provides the participant’s details along with any medical or emergency information we need to keep that child safe. If you believe a child has given us information online without a parent’s involvement, contact us and we will delete it.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiries and booking records for as long as needed to serve you and to satisfy our legal, tax, insurance, and safety obligations — then we dispose of them. Waivers, incident records, and minors’ program paperwork are retained longer where law or our insurers require it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and we rely on established providers for hosting, forms, and payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we do not collect payment card details ourselves, which removes the most sensitive category of data from our hands entirely.

Links to other sites

Our site links out to FareHarbor, Google Maps, and our social media profiles. Once you follow a link, that organization’s privacy policy governs what happens to your information. We are not responsible for their practices.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information — for example by adding analytics or a new booking tool — we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be made clear rather than buried.
